And now we have the bombshell New York Times story on Trump's tax returns to throw into the mix.

The got them! And Trump paid 750 bucks in 2016 and 2017 in income tax. That's it -- all of through shady tax avoidance schemes he's been under investigation for, including $73 million refund which may have been fraudulent and he may actually owe $100 million ."

Prior to 2016:

"He had paid no income taxes at all in 10 of the previous 15 years — largely because he reported losing much more money than he made.

As the president wages a re-election campaign that polls say he is in danger of losing, his finances are under stress, beset by losses and hundreds of millions of dollars in debt coming due that he has personally guaranteed. Also hanging over him is a decade-long audit battle with the Internal Revenue Service over the legitimacy of a $72.9 million tax refund that he claimed, and received, after declaring huge losses. An adverse ruling could cost him more than $100 million."

And now we had Brad Parscale, his recently demoted campaign manager, barricading himself in his home, armed, and now in a hospital. A lot is happening!

Really enjoyed your interview with Adam Jentleson on Thursday — your conversation was terrific, thank you. What a smart and perceptive fellow! The Democratic Party needs to pick his brain often — and I hope they are.

Michelangelo, a request: any way you can bring back Rachel Bitecofer soon? It's been a minute and I am having a Bitecofer withdrawal! lol. But, also, if there is any time to get her pearls of wisdom, it is now.

Also: you used to have a segment from time to time of "living with a Republican in your household" which lasted for many months and was so great. How about a new one: "do you have someone in your household who voted for Trump but now regrets it and is voting Biden?". Actually, I think this has been discussed as parts of other caller conversations, but would be great to have a few dedicated segments leading up to Nov. 3rd.

Thanks so much for continuously excellent shows — as I've told you before, it's so cathartic listening to you and your guests every day!

Oh my God!!! If I hear another lying republican political ad, I think I will throw up.... McSally's ad are all lies..... Trumps ads are all lies....both saying they will protect preconditions and medicare. Election can't come soon enough. And of course we will be listening to the republicans on how Amy Barrett is different than M. Garland nomination. DISGUSTING. RBG what an awesome person. She was everything that Amy Barrett is not and they call themselves Christians....

Thanks for posting about this, Michaelangelo. I'm very concerned about Obamacare being overturned. I was reading in either the Post or New Yorker about this falling into the overarching plan to make Capitalism the ruling party and Democracy thrown on the dustheap of history. It's very depressing. They've been chipping away at our freedoms while strengthening corporatism. It's the Republican gravy train for the Kochs, Federalist Society, Trump, and his enablers. He wants a Putinocracy. That's where he keeps reaping the money in but doesn't have to do anything harder than reading a fucking script. It's sickening, and, as I said above, very depressing. Dems, Progressives, and Liberals have got to unite and crush them!

Hi all, so I have been tracking my ballot through my county voting website. It is marked as delivered which after 2 emails I was told that delivered means it arrived at the post office. Well it was "delivered" on the 18th. I was told by registrar to wait 10 days, but I know for a fact this is not how the mail used to work here. If something has arrived at the post office I would expect it to be out for delivery the same day, maybe the next day, but not 10+ days. Tomorrow will be the 10th day and all of this is making me very nervous that they will be successful in stealing the election.

I am still stuck in my apartment, immunocompromised so even going out to check the mail is a risk. I am not happy that Biden is our nominee but seriousness of our situation means one more time I will hold my nose and put my core beliefs and personal needs aside and vote for him, but I'm feeling like if I am being blocked from voting it makes me want to do it more.

After being laid off and not being able to look for a new job I don't know how long I can survive without some sort of relief. I wasn't eligible for the stimulus and enhanced unemployment ended the same day my job did. My only hope is that Biden will sign Sen. Markey's relief bill or at least something similar in Jan. I am honestly terrified and I really want my ballot! I know for a fact that my community was one where sorting machines were removed. We cannot let them get away with this.

I said it when Mitch McConnell infamously refused to even give a hearing to Merrick Garland and I won't change my tune now that the GOP has shown it's word is worthless. The Constitution is clear and the president has every right to name a justice. Of course, we all KNOW that Gorsuch is sitting in a stolen seat and that Barrett is also in a stolen seat because Moscow Mitch refused to do his Constitutional duty. What irks me, more than anything, is hearing Biden still talking as if the motto of the GOP wasn't "No Honor, No Honesty, No Integrity". They have zero probity and the sooner Biden realizes that the sooner progressives will stop pulling their hair out over his candidacy.
