During my most recent job I spoke with many people across the country like Neil in NC. These people are beyond return. These are the same people who 10 months after the pandemic hit still think it’s a hoax, don’t understand why businesses have shut down, why there are postal delays, etc. They are just too far gone.

I think that 4% mortality rate is a little high and not sure where you got it. The number of verified cases in the US is 7,829,476 and the number of dead is 215,476 which works out to a case fatality rate of 2.7%. So many cases, especially at the beginning were not verified, but from current testing we think that there were 10x more at the beginning of the epidemic and that the actual fatality rate is closer to .3 or .4%... still 4x more than the annual flu.
