Justin Wells is in charge of Carlson's entire Fox News empire. He's helped ramp up vitriol against LGBTQ people while rising higher still at News Corp.
This is pretty despicable. That gay men like Wells & Peter Theil could be complicit in the virulent hate, misinformation & propaganda that can (& does) actually get LGBTQ people murdered is hard to get one’s head around.
Theil has his wealth to shield him, but any other traditional targets of fascist rage are not paying attention to history if they think they can abet hate & violence toward their own people...& remain safe. Being in DC during the 80's and privy to the Reagan/Helms hatefest, I am at once encountering PTSD and Deja Vu. That someone like Wells works with F**ker Carlson registers as mildly surprising considering the likes of Thiel and Grenell. They all belong to the group "Settin' us all back". I am worried for the younger generation who don't connect the various dots and are blissfully ignorant until the violence hits close to home. Harvey Milk and you, Mr. Signorile taught us to turn the tables on our foes. Sans outing we need to locate the advertisers keeping the Faux News lights on and employ our weapons to bring down the Beast...

I remember the head House Slave portrayed in Django Unchained who was played by Sam Jackson who had convinced himself that he was almost as powerful as the white master. What humans will do to justify their position of privilege is crazy. The sad fact is that they are wealthy, usually white men, who have the power to brutalize so many people.

I never cease to marvel at the ability of the human brain to work at cross-purposes with its own best interests. So what will Justin Wells do when America turns into Gilead and the good White Conservative heterosexual Christians who run things start hanging anyone who's LGBTQ on walls? Will he be applauding up to the time he's strung up...or will he finally realize that he's been on the wrong side all along and has been a traitor to his community?

Well's behavior is beyond "disgusting", you, Craig, have no understanding of the history of the LBTQ+ community, and the hate, discrimination, and violence that has been politically & specifically aimed at this community, and their ongoing fight against intolerance & damaging political policies , may I suggest you read up on this history(Michelangelo's writings would be a good start).The rhetoric that Wells's has allowed & approved for broadcasting via the Tucker show has "inspired", hate, violence, discrimination and political weaponizing against a group that simply wants to be treated as equal citizens of this country. He, and others like the “Gays against Groomers”, don’t consider transgender people as part of their community. You would think that those, like Wells, who have a sexual orientation different from the majority, would easily empathize with the natural feelings of those who have a gender identity that is different from the majority. But they don’t. Gay Republicans would be major homophobes if it wasn’t for the pesky fact that they’re gay. But at least they can join the war against trans folks, because they are cis.
These days, Tucker and Laura Ingraham explicitly avoid attacking gay men and women, even as they double down on the Fox News war against all things trans. It’s a huge distinction in their minds - separating the demonization of the trans community (and gender-affirming procedures like puberty blockers, hormone therapy, and surgery), from their relative silence on gays. But of course, the haters don’t make any distinction between LGB and T.
