I have a different question I would want answered, “If every aspect of this stayed the same except the President was a Democrat, would your vote stay the same?” If they answer “No” I would tell them that they are not honoring the oath of office they took. The same should hold true with Democrats and the president were a Democrat. This vote is about protecting the U.S. Constitution and the future of our nation. It should not be about political posturing. Donald Trump is a malignant narcissist and a pathological liar. His lies were able to convince approximately one third of voters that he won and ther was fraud and the election was stolen. Respected journalists from across the political spectrum, judges overseeing scores of challenged and elected officials, both Democrats and Republicans reported that Joe Biden won the election legitimately with fraud not impacting the outcome. Trump supporters descended upon Washington on January 6th per Trump’s request. Trump’s non-stop lies got his supporters angry and fired up constantly since Biden was declared the winner. He told his supporters to not let the outcome of Biden winning stand. He attempted to get his Vice President to overstep his authority and not allow the certified votes to be counted and then threw the Vice President under the bus knowingly endangering his life He tried to get judges and states to not let the will of the people stand. The protesters didn’t have a permit to march to the Capitol. Trump’s staff knew this. Still, Trump in his speech on January 6th told attendees to march to the Capitol and take their country back. Trump even said he would be marching with them. The protest turned into a riot and those involved followed Trump’s directions. Trump watched on TV with a huge smile on his face. Trump only got involved to cool things down when it became he would be in huge trouble if he failed to do so. Every senator has a responsibility to vote to protect the constitution and the future of our nation. Votes just based on protecting their own political and economic future are not the purpose of the process of impeachment being included in our constitution.
The question to ask these GOP senators is simple: “Did you find tRump not guilty because you were complicit...or did you lack intestinal fortitude ? “....It is one or the other....don’t let them hide behind the sham “flawed process” BS, or the resolved question that the impeachment was somehow “unconstitutional”. We need to ensure that for the rest of their political lives we need to remind them they are unpatriotic enablers of domestic terrorists..
The hypocrites will exonerate Trump. They fear he'll run Q-anon candidates against them in the next Primary and they'll lose their cushy, do-nothing jobs. These traitors all need to be voted out. They support and incite insurrection and then ask for prayers and b.s. after the carnage.
