The answer is NO! The fact that this clown show can continue is obnoxious. The fact that he even has the right to run again and people support him shows the lack of morals and respect for this country and it’s laws. I am truly disgusted with the media, the Republicans and our country as it stands today. This should not be happening.

Honestly, the cable news system lost me years ago. It’s pathetic and outrageous with its half truths, lies and how it instigates drama. The US is a huge pot and the media is a bigger spoon to stir up drama and lies. They allow these people to come on TV and spew crap without any pushback or fact checking.

I would hope that CNN would give the same amount of time to Biden, but really the Clown 🤡 and his show should not be glorified.

The indictments can’t come soon enough. We’re still waiting.

In the meantime, CNN is attempting to normalize this sociopath and career criminal. He’s not just any “candidate”, and it doesn’t matter that he might be the “front runner”. The odds are that he will have a platform to air his greatest hits. And that’s just plain wrong and in no way in the public’s interest.

Mike, the answer to your leading question is “Oh hell no !!” I’m getting that pit in stomach again for the direction this nation seems determined to go. Not figuratively, truly a pit in the stomach. Today’s America is traveling in complete opposition of the direction that “The Greatest Generation” toiled, sweated, bled and died for. This is like turning onto a freeway ignoring the warning signs and going the wrong way. What can possibly go wrong ?

No. Hell to the eff no. He should be given zero time by any (even somewhat) credible network. Period. Since I do not consider faux news a real news source I’m not including them.

Absolutely reprehensible that a legitimate news organization would give this criminal a public forum to say anything. It reinforces medias number one priority. Money

This corporate media, funded by the people who have all of the money to control what CNN airs and it's idea of "journalism" reflects corporate money interests...nothing else.

I have never respected CNN.

CNN should cover the trial of Donald Trump for insurrection. The only election Trump should be allowed to run is to represent his section of the prison where he spends the rest of his life on their inmate board. CNN can cover that too.

I no longer watch "60 Minutes" after giving the "see-U-next-time" MTG a platform. I would say I will no longer watch CNN but, like most Americans, I never watch it anyway. However, it is indefensible that they are giving Hitler 2.0 a platform. The only saving grace might be giving him an opportunity to further demonstrate what an unhinged, mentally disturbed, vile bastard he is. He will not gain any voters based on another insane rant. Independents are becoming more and more negative about MAGA, probably due to the smell more than anything else. He has a lock on the MAGA morons, but they are not enough to win in 2024. And, hopefully, prosecutors with more backbone than the Walter Mitty character running the DOJ will hit him with enough indictments to make him untenable.

No, CNN should not have a townhall with the former guy, live or recorded for later airing. What's the point, besides ratings and a grab at faux news viewers who stopped watching after TC was fired. I won't be watching, that's for sure! No minds are going to be changed by this. MAGAts will vote for him anyway and independents most likely won't vote for him this time. We just need to vote in droves in 2024 for the Biden-Harris ticket since it looks like all of TFG's legal troubles won't prevent him from being on the ballot.

With the new CNN leadership tilted to the Right, I don't trust them to deliver the news without bias OR to host Trump, and then softball it all the way. For me, it all started 2 months after they took over last fall, when they moved Don Lemon from prime time host to part of a morning group, diminishing his status. His eventual firing came not so much from comments that went sideways, as to the fact that he was too liberal, to black for them. I hope Don finds a soft landing somewhere.

The only reason Anderson Cooper stays in place is because of his national status and name recognition, otherwise a liberal, white gay guy would probably be booted, too.

Query: What do you think the Vegas over/under line will be for how much free media the networks will provide to Donald Trump this cycle? For some context, they provided over two billion dollars worth in 2016, and that was just UP THROUGH MARCH 15, 2016.

https://www.nytimes.com/2016/03/16/upshot/measuring-donald-trumps-mammoth-advantage-in-free-media.html

The notion that CNN needs to host a “Town Hall” with a friendly audience for a guy who lied over 30,000 times as president, was impeached twice, fomented an insurrection, conspired to commit a coup d'état against the United States of America, denies to this very day the outcome of the election that booted him out of the White House, is currently under indictment for 34 felonies in the state of New York, and under civil and criminal investigations too numerous to track is utterly ludicrous. There is no such thing as an “undecided voter,” unless of course they’ve been living under a rock or are just plain stupid. (You know, just like Trump likes them.)

My bet is the over (no matter the number) for there is not a number high enough to measure just how much free media will be provided. That’s because the only lesson anyone has learned by what is now eight interminable years of mendacity, corruption, treason, defamation, adultery, misogyny, bigotry, sleaziness and substitution of democracy with kakistocracy (gleefully aided and abetted by the fourth estate) was provided by Les Moonves when he said: “[The Trump cicus] may not be good for America, but it’s damn good for CBS.” https://www.independent.co.uk/voices/donald-trump-might-not-be-good-news-for-america-but-he-s-great-news-for-the-tv-networks-a6941441.html

Edward R. Murrow and Walter Cronkite must be spinning in their graves as if on spit. Were they with us today they would no doubt wonder when and why their former employer (and its competitors) stopped giving a damn about the country and became nothing but crass and conscienceless mercenaries.

If presented with their hypothetical confusion, what explanation would CNN offer? I suspect it's already been provided by Rupert Murdoch: "It's not about red or blue, but green."

My first reaction was "HELL NO." Then I thought about it. IFF CNN will ask hard questions, and press for answers, then it's very likely he will throw a hissy fit and storm out. I'd love to see that. Never mind. CNN will never do that. So I'm back to "HELL NO."

Trump will just dig his hole deeper, I think. The Trumpers will vote for him regardless. Not happy about the audience or moderator, though.

Strong disagree

First, Trump wouldn’t dare use a town hall meeting format or a debate with CNN because he would not have the questions beforehand. In 2016 he had such help from Fox. In 2020 he did not, well at least from Chris Wallace he didn’t.

Second, Trump if he broke his own rule and did a town hall he didn’t control would be unable to comprehend some of the questions given to him as he only uses the vocabulary of a ten year old as measured on the Fleisch-Kincaid scale the Navy developed. There are hundreds of examples of Trump not being able to understand questions due to his undiagnosed communication and social disorder I laid out In Donald Trump Explained, A Special Education Perspective of the Forty Fifth President of the United States.

Third, a town hall format exposes Trump’s lack of competence where he doesn’t get to free wheel idiosyncratically. He’ll have a meltdown similar to what he had nearly every day behind closed doors, save everyone will be watching.

So yes CNN should offer. Trump will decline. He might have one set up on a network where he controls the questions and audience.

It could only begin to be maybe, arguably justified if there is absolutely relentless challenging.. No "Well, some would differ." No "but is this a winning message for you?" No "OK, let's leave it at that."

If I were in Collins' place I would start with "what are the facts that proved, to your satisfaction, that you were the rightful winner in 2020." And immediately challenge the inevitable non-answer, like "everybody knows that." Be prepared to say "that is not a fact. It's an empty bluff, a response that any fraud can give in response to any question about anything." (Perhaps explain, in terms an imbecile could understand, what "facts" are.) You're trying to lead up to "if -- as we have now established way beyond reasonable doubt -- there was no evidence showing you to be the rightful winner, but you nevertheless attempted to have yourself kept in the White House anyway, then you are obviously guilty of an attempted coup, an illegitimate seizure of power,"
