This is awful the way vioilence is happening. I wish Merrick Garland would start arresting people, like Green for theatening to kill Nancy Pelosi, Cruz and Hawley for inciting the riot, Brooks, and anyone else that was the insurrection, terrorist attack. Also the GOP keeps talking about voter ID's and voter fraud. Don't they realize that you would have to make up 40,000+ ballots. You have to be registered and how many people would have to go into a place to vote twice, three times with different names, or to have ballots mailed to you. They don't mail ballots out unless you are registered. This is all voter SUPPRESSION. I don't know how much longer I can keep up hope that something will be done to these republicans. I worry that our democracy will go down.
I'm concerned about the violence that may occur. Guns are everywhere and the right-wing has preyed on fear of minorities taking over the "American (white) way of life." Trump is a shark, swimming in the background of the GOP and leading it to destruction. January 6 taught us that many police and military are members of the right-wing so we can't even rely on many of them during an uprising. I'm glad I'm a senior as I never thought I'd see the country degenerate into such paranoia and racism. I thought we made progress in the 60's, but now we're going backwards.
The level of paranoia of those on the extreme right is truly scary. If you have not yet seen the video (it is on YouTube) "Mark McCloskey for Senate" OMG he is the lunatic who along with his wife ran out of their St. Louis house with loaded guns and screamed at BLM protestors marching past their house. Listen to his insane commercial "an angry mob came to destroy my house and kill my family..." these people are delusional with fear and hatred. These gun toting lunatics are now members of Congress and their constituents are armed to the teeth. It is more than concerning...
Terrible to note that the Insurrectionists of 1/6 are all around us and something will need to come to a head. Hopefully, tRump will be in jail by the time 2024 comes around and I believe we will see many people leaving the sinking ship which is the Republican party by then. The supporters will pay lip service to Hawley or Cruz as their nominee, but in typical fashion will not show up if their 'dear leader' isn't the candidate and I doubt that he will be.
