This is just plain scary. Apparently, we have learned nothing from the carnage of the 20th Century and the legacy of Fascism. The act of discipling a teacher for showing her students a film depicting a Gay character is egregious and outrageous. It’s sheer lunacy. Does DeSantis expect the entire population of people deemed unacceptable to go away? The progression of hate and discrimination leads to a very dark place. The people of this country need to wake up and become familiar with the Fascists and Dictators who were responsible for the deaths of tens of millions during World War II and the wars that followed. The hundreds of Trans-Gender discrimination Bills and laws are only the beginning. They have begun to criminalize behaviors associated with abortion and that will continue along with the criminalization of other activities they deem forbidden. If we are to stop this madness we have to be vocal and educate our fellow citizens regarding the dangers of the current trajectory of the Republican Party. We can’t ignore it and hope that it will go away. Fascism, like most cancers, will metastasize and only get worse if ignored. Reason and common sense have left the building. They may be happily sitting on the beach, sipping pina coladas, but the result of their apathy was a disaster. DeSatan and his sycophants in Tallahassee passed horrendous legislation to end diversity, equity and inclusion in universities throughout the state, ending tenure, censoring history books, the abortion ban after 6 weeks, anti-LGBT legislation, and a host of other discriminatory laws. If this doesn't wake up lazy Dems, I don't know what will! As you said, we need to reach out to Independents and moderate Republicans.
