Was refused entry into buildings & restaurants he had accounts in (food salesman) Ended up on a ventilator for a MONTH, is now released to a rehab facility, is on oxygen for life & is not expected to last too much longer as he has many pre-existing conditions. While I blame TFG & all the lunatics, everyone has to make their own choices. This dimwit chose death. (the hub & I just got our boosters Sat so we can relax & enjoy our holidays)
Mike, I heard part of an NPR story last week about some patients who now have severe liver damage due to taking large doses of Ivermectin. The health costs from the Trump disinformation and the FOX "News" Corp continues onward.
The horrifying truth is that many people who survive COVID-19 infection have permanent damage to their lungs, their brains, and other organs. Doctors working with these survivors say that some patients in their 20s and 30s have the lung capacity of people decades older. Their long term prognosis is not so good. This is going to put a massive strain on our medical system for the foreseeable future. How are people not hearing these stories, not reading this news? They get their news only from Fox News or other far right sources. The power of propaganda and misinformation.
I heard this live, as well as the guy today with the wife in health care who hates mandates though he got his polio, measles, etc. I agree with the caller here, what can you do except eliminate them from your life? Think I mentioned here I lost a friend of over 40 years to the anti-Vaxx rabbit hole. Told her it was a red line.
In terms of flying, I did fly to Europe this year but had to produce proof of vaccination. To return had to have a negative Covid test AND vaccine. Never felt safer on a plane. Have flown only once since then but would not have without having had my booster shot. Def saw the fake drinking and eating bull crap with masks pulled down. In Europe you couldn’t get on any high speed train without proof of vaccination. Totally think we should do here. Will NOT fly again, especially until we know how long the booster shots last. Am sure Pete Buttigeg is being told not to push vaccine mandates, but this timidity by the Biden administration fries my ass. Stop being afraid DEMOCRATS!
Mike, if there is a way on Twitter or your show or anything to get someone who is having a gathering of vaccinated people who lives near that poor woman who called and is going to be all alone because her family won’t get Vaxxed, to invite her to their home, please do! I think she was from Wisconsin? I wish she were here in California, I would totally have her over. It was heartbreaking to hear her.
What's also crazy are these anti-vaxxers in the hospital on a ventilator who keep making posts on social media posting their anti-vax BS. The last thing I would ever do if I were sick or in the hospital would be posting anything on social media or even texting for that matter.
This isn't the first story like this I've heard down here in Texas and actually my father in law's story is similar. He got covid last Thanksgiving and refused to go to hospital. We called many times and I even tried to get the ambulance to go do a health check but his wife refused to let them in. Finally, he got so bad he couldn't even wake up with his diabetes impacting him and caused his sugar to go beyond what a glucose meter can measure. His anti vaxxer wife finally allowed the ambulance to take him to the ER. They actually drove around until they found a hospital that would take him cuz at the time all ER's were at capacity here. His body stayed toxic for over a week which put him in a dementia like state for a month. He survived somehow but to this day, he refuses to believe Covid caused this. He thinks they were just using the covid story to help push numbers. My father in law is a Choctaw elder. Has some of the language that is to be passed down so he is valuable to the tribe. Even he was sucked into this world because of this anti-vaxxer wife who is far on the spectrum of thinking home remedies will fix every thing. She has got him to go down the Fox News rabbit hole now. It seems to only be getting worse with him in conversations. Most tribes don't believe the conspiracies but I've seen a lot of Choctaw that have accepted it. Probably due to the location being in the deep red part of the state.
There appears to be, if not the mass hysteria, that occasionally crops up in Society, then a more focused, nuanced variety. In this case relative to the ‘thinking’ of anti-Vaxxers.
"How do we fight that?" We don't. At this point, we save ourselves and others who want to be saved. Hate to sound cruel, but that's where we are y'all.
