With rising Covid-19 cases and hospitalizations sending many states backward in their reopening plans, one health expert warns that if the US continues on its current path, it will reach "one of the most unstable times in the history of our country." cnn.it/3iRQigG

On Friday night Donald Trump commuted Roger Stone’s sentence — a friend who is, still, a convicted felon — as Robert Mueller himself wrote this weekend — lied to the FBI and covered up for the president.

Unprecedented, historic corruption: an American president commutes the sentence of a person convicted by a jury of lying to shield that very president.

There was lots of speculation as to why he did it now — having left Stone dangling almost until the day he went to prison — but some think it is simply because Trump needs Stone as an adviser now more than ever before, watching himself sinking in the polls.

As Florida, Texas and Arizona bring this country’s coronavirus cases to 70,000 per day, wreaking havoc on Americans and causing the death toll to rise again nationally, Trump finally wore a mask while visiting Walter Reed. Though that’s a good thing, it was way too little, way too late — but of course a lot of the media patted him on the back.

Meanwhile, a new Texas poll has Joe Biden leading Trump in that state 46-41, which is, just, wow. In Arizona, in another poll, Biden is getting 69% of Latinos. And Biden has been comfortably leading Trump in polls in Florida. The horrific coronavirus response clearly is affecting Trump in all of these states.

What is happening where you are? Let us know your thoughts.

I both welcome and fear November. I fully expect a landslide rejection of Trump and, hopefully, all Republicans who have enabled him. I also know that the GOP will do everything in its power to steal the election, even to the point of fraudulently refusing to certify the election in order to steal it in Congress. If all that fails then we have to deal with the havoc Trump, McConnell and the rest of the treasonous Republicans in office will wreak in the months prior to that glorious day in January when Trump is whisked away in Marine 1. God help America!!!

Somethings gotta give. Being in SC, when I wear a mask in public, I’m in the minority (at least in my neck of the woods.) The lack of leadership in the US during this pandemic is disturbing to me. Promoting a rebellious attitude about masks isn’t doing us any favors. You can explain it until you’re blue in the face, but as long as these folks continue relying on Fox and YouTube as their primary news sources, they are too far gone. Just my observation.
