I also didn't get much sleep because my pit bull, Artie, had gastro issues -- got us up at 1 am, then 6 a.m. to go out. then rice and boiled chicken all day. Seems to be doing good, high energy, not sure what happened. but i'm tired!

We are sitting in the kitchen listening to Xorje Olivares, and we got into a discussion about the Democratic party post-election. I am of the mind that we should not worry about the 70-plus million of misguided people who voted for Trump, we should worry more about the 70M or so who did not vote at all. All Dems need to stay activated and get involved any way we can -- donate, join a local Dem organization, recruit more voters, whatever. We have to build the base, keep talking to each other and also get more blue collar and POCs in positions of leadership. Forget about Trump voters, if after 4 years of what we went through they still think he is the Man then they are simply fools and not worth worrying about. Let's work on ourselves, build our ranks, hone our message and reach new voters.

I have been self-quarantined since March. Horrified by the massive irresponsible Trump administration and his ‘fans’ I FaceTime regularly with my grandson, send him gifts and make my family as comfortable as possible, but they all know to adhere to the COVID-19 protocols. No Thanksgiving, no Christmas but we are all healthy and alive. I am beyond happy that Biden/Harris won as this means an end to herd ‘mentality’ and corruption. I am hopeful Trump and others will be indicted and prosecuted. We have much work to do to end the right wing propaganda and lies. Australia is going hard after Rupert Murdoch 👍🏼we should consider joining the effort.

Making a plan to help flip GA. I have already donated but will begin phone banking and writing after my semester wraps up next week. Our small college campus has managed to have classes partially in person since August and it has been a nail biter. I am so worried about our students going home and infecting their families. Thank you so much for your show, Michaelangelo. It has been a balm to me every weekday and you have kept me informed but enraged, motivated and never complacent. There are super progressive liberals in WV, we just have to shout louder over the racists.

Here in Vermont we are seeing a bit of a rise in cases and as a health care provider I am watching this closely and hoping people continue to take things seriously so that we get through this uptick without another major shutdown.

I am still elated over the results of the election, yet enraged by the actions of the petulant child in chief and the GOP.

Spent today doing prewinter garden chores and the like. Wrapping shrubs in burlap, putting up snowfencing, etc. Heading out now for a walk with the border collies.

Here in Illinois, Gov Pritzker signaled yesterday that a shelter-in-place order is imminent. In Chicago, a stay at home advisory goes into effect Monday.

Beautiful day in SoCal. Like you, unwinding a bit this weekend. Planning Thanksgiving. We will have one couple over and we will do EVERYTHING outside including almost all the cooking. Eating at two separate patio tables 20 feet apart. Disposable plates, cutlery, glasses, etc. Hand sanitizer, masks when not eating, We’ve also all agreed to not go anywhere, even to the store for a week before, so going to get all my shopping done early this next week. Our county remains second highest in state. Frankly I wish the whole country would go on a two week total lockdown. Everyone. Can you imagine if FDR asked everyone to do a simple sacrifice like this in WWII and people said “no, I’m tired of the war, I’ll do what I want”. January 20 cannot come fast enough, but before then need to give everything we have to the Georgia senate races and get a high turnout. Tuning out Fake Bone Spurs feels good.

Hello there Subs, Hou is about to go back to city-wide C9 restrictions!

Today the weather sucks, but it feels great not to talk about what the “Orange-sore-loser” is doing for once. We have a new Pres and Madam Veep! Damn, it feels good! GA is next. Let’s keep the momentum going. Also, I made Shakshuka Harissa eggs for Breakfo, first time and wow, my GF loved them. Now, MS, must try your gnocchi :)

I heard the cult is doing something in D.C. today, but who cares, no so much coverage, irrelevant. We have a new President, and love it, Jan 20th 12:00 EST can’t get here faster 😬

Here in New Mexico we under shut down again until November 30th. Nothing will be open except for essential stores. All restaurants are shut down except for carry out. Meanwhile those of us who haven't worked in months are still waiting for more money from our Federal Govt. Not sure when that is coming but still have my fingers crossed. Nice weather outside and it's nice not to have the tv on non stop waiting to see what our future is going to be.

Greeting from So Cal! Nice sunny day here & heatwave with 80s & mild Santa Ana winds tomorrow- thank goodness! Makes the early darkness tolerable -barely. Hearing bits of reports that several Dems lost the seats they flipped in 2018, grateful that our Rep Katie Porter has been re-elected!

I paint which has kept me mostly sane as I am vulnerable with asthma. Really enjoying writing postcards with #PostcardsToVoters & got my first few addresses for GA runoff today! If you can afford the time & postcards/postage I highly recommend it- Google #PostcardsToVoters or email Join@TonyThe Democrat.org. They provide writing points & mailing addresses to proven Democratic voters. You request as many (4-50) address as you can write to & mail in 3 days & then can request more. Really helped me during election season & I have become adamant that we must stay involved between elections to save ourselves from a repeat of the last 4 yrs. Also vote our full ballots & in off year elections to cut off the extremist conservatives early! trump has been extremely scary as we are retirement age & that is planned with Social Security & Medicare which makes it hard to move out of the country!

Virus is starting to spread here too-ending unnecessary travel strongly urged in CA/OR/WA, 2 wk quarantine if you do. OR is planning a shut down. I understand Governors “suggesting” & not just locking down so that the ridiculous can not thumb their noses at the sane among us! Just hope more folks get more careful & more considerate sooner than later. Going to be a triple crown of holidays hitting us hard.

Thanks for all you & others do at Progressive channel, Michelangelo!! Safe & happy thanksgiving all!

Hi Michelangelo! Nice brisk Saturday in The Bay Area! Love this weather. So, I just wanted to thank you for the wonderful interview you did on Thursday with Ruth Ben-Ghiat. Excellent questions — and what a learned and highly insightful person she is. I had never heard of her before but I really enjoyed listening to everything she had to say — scary as some of it is. You had more questions but ran out of time — I want to encourage you to have her back as soon as possible, especially while we're still in this rough transition period, to ask more of what you wanted to ask her regarding Trump shuffling up the DOD. She probably has an interesting viewpoint on that. I would also like to hear her further take on two things she touched very briefly on: (a) she said that men are attracted to "leaders" like Trump and Berlusconi — and women too. I'd like her to expound on why so many women (esp. white) are so enamored of these leaders, but esp. Trump, when they are such blatant misogynists. And, (b) she said there is a chance that a large portion of the now-72-million Americans who voted for him might come around and fully appreciate Joe Biden's calm & steady governing style and will abandon Trump — perhaps, in a sense, get deprogrammed. Would like to hear her expound on that point and to give her advice to the Biden/Harris Administration as to what more they can do to facilitate that. Joe & Kamala aren't just going to need to get excellent policy enacted and make sure the country is safe — they're concurrently going to need to fight against rising fascistic appeal that some in our country have developed and do all they can to strengthen democracy, rebuild trust, and repair our voting systems (almost hard to believe these elections went so smoothly despite Mitch not putting forth election security bill and the Trump/DeJoy USPS conspiracy). And we have to go into this with the mindset that we may lose The House in two years and may not get the Senate this time, and may not get the White House in four years — I hope none of that will come to pass and our fortunes will continue in a good direction, but we gotta take the bull by the horns now while we are in power. Thanks again so much, Michelangelo!

I've been catching up on sleep today as it's cloudy and cool in Seattle with we have snow in the Cascades. Currently making a mocha latte and will watch films and read today and purchased my turkey yesterday!

Everyone I see wears a mask out here when I'm out shopping and a few days ago I walked to the Pike Place Market.

I still can't believe Trump thinks he has a chance of winning the election! I noticed that he is currently selling a lot of leftover campaign items on his FB page!

Yes. We actually have two Subarus.

My family is from Litchfield County in CT so not unlike Vermont. So, even though I have lived here a long time, I am still called a “flat lander”. The natives will never really call you a Vermonter if you were not born here.

Where I am in Vermont, can still get to the city in less than 4 hours or sometimes a bit less. Boston in a couple of hours.

I do get to the city quite a bit (not since COVID) as I have a lot of family in the NY area.

My niece is a model and lives in Manhattan. I live in close proximity to several major ski areas and close to Dartmouth, Woodstock, etc. so there is quite a bit going on around here, great restaurants, etc. although not since COVID. So, yes, rural it is, but not really a cultural void. Best of both worlds, although it can get cold. You have to enjoy outdoor pursuits to enjoy being here year round. The fall is the most beautiful time.

Very progressive here in terms of recycling, working towards aggressive climate goals, etc.

Those movies were about Vermont, but I am not sure if they were actually filmed here.

Cider House Rules was filmed in part, at the farm that I can see from my front deck. Fun fact:

Paul Manafort’s cousin (just sold) owned the beef farm that I can also see from my deck less than a mile from here. Gorgeous place.

Houses in Vermont are selling sight unseen for top dollar right now as people can work from home and are moving here from urban areas. There is a 10k remote worker grant that you get if you move here and work remotely. So it is a unique place, for sure.

Ha. Yes. Lots of work, but my hydrangeas are happy!

Yes and so governor and public health are really on top of things. So far we have been able to “thread the needle” and dial up and down as needed. Cases were a result of some “clusters”. A hockey league issue and a couple of weddings I believe.🤞🤞
