I can say that in New York, outside, not everyone is wearing a mask. But it's not necessary -- I do -- as it is inside, except when there's close contact. The problem is we've seen a lot of people outside bars, very close. That's not good. But inside, everyone is wearing masks in any public establishment of any kind.

In Dallas, Texas masks are worn by many people but far too many people do jot wear them. Far too many people don’t stand at least 6 feet apart either. Fortunately as of 11:59 p.m. last night it is legally required in Dallas for all people to wear masks at work and for all customers as well. Houston, San Antonio and other select locations in Texas are also requiring people To wear masks too.
Sadly, some states, including Texas, with Republican governors and state legislatures with Republican majorities are unwilling to make fighting the Trump Virus a priority. We are paying the price with the number of cases and deaths at their highest levels and still rising. Doctors tell their patients to wear masks and to maintain social distance. People who refuse to wear masks should be thrown out of restaurants and retail establishments, sent home from work without pay, not allowed in schools, tossed off of airplanes, trains, buses, etc. They are claiming being forced to wear a mask is an intrusion on their first amendment rights. Hmm,, I wonder, is it an intrusion of their first amendment rights to be forced To obey traffic laws, to wear seatbelts, to not drive when they are drunk, to wear clothes in public? Children are taught to obey rules from a young age and that there are consequences if they don’t do so. These morons are behaving like cranky spoiled brats. It is time to give them timeouts and make them stand in the corner (deny them entry, send them away, fine them). How dare they put my life and the lives of others at risk by refusing to wear a mask!!!
So, being that I am age 67, with several of the health risks that put me at high risk I am staying home. My husband and I are having groceries delivered. We are not eating at restaurants. We purchase any needed items online and have it delivered. I use the drive-thru to pick-up prescriptions at Walgreens. Do I miss people? I am on social media all the time. I text and email and am enjoying using Zoom. I also love to pickup the phone and speak with dear friends and family.
I hope that a vaccine and medical cures are developed soon. Until then I am following the instructions of my doctors. I am also doing everything possible to get Trump tossed out of the White House, regain Democratic control of the Senate, larger Democratic control of the House as well as electing more Democrats to state and local governments on November 3rd.
Oh crap! I forgot to mention the Bolton book. Well first off, I am a veteran of the Iraq war. So I won't give that war cheerleader a dime for his money swindle. Hi all! I went to Home Depot twice this week in the Seattle suburban area and I was pleasantly surprised to see -- by my very unofficial count -- that over 90 percent of folks were wearing masks.
I am in Colorado, just north of Denver. I am amazed at how "relaxed" people have become. I walk almost 6 miles a day, 3 in the AM with one friend, 3 in the PM with another. We passed many other walkers, runners, and bicyclists in the last week, but we have seen only 4 others wearing masks. At first, almost everyone was wearing a mask, but now my friends and I seem to be the only ones. Since things started opening again, and Governor Polis began the move to relax rules, it is hard to find a mask. I know the virus doesn't travel well outside; however, with runners and bicyclists their breathing is different. They have no respect for their fellow man! Idiots! Most grocery stores, restaurants, and the like still require masks, so there you will find many wearing masks. I was in a Safeway store in Boulder, CO, a week ago, and I saw people being turned away if they had no masks. Basically, it is a mixed bag depending on the activity and location. We will see what happens with the virus as a result of this.
The poultry processing plants located in SW MO are seeing huge increases in cases. Very few in that reddest of red areas wear masks (you know it's a Democrat hoax). Watch the numbers rise there.
Los Angeles, city proper: more people wearing masks since the state Dept. of Public Health a couple of days ago mandated it when in public and unable to maintain social distancing. Mask-wearing - or the lack thereof - is a real issue for me, so the new order is very welcome. Fortunately, at the two markets that I prioritize, they have strong protocols in place. Even then, too many people wear their masks over their mouths but not their noses, and then there are those like the lady at the checkout at Trader Joe’s yesterday who lowered her mask to talk to the cashier, exposing her mouth and nose. I see this far too often, WTF?
Wednesday I had a doctor’s appointment, and this doctor has mostly older patients. I walked into the waiting room and there was an asshole with her mask off, her laptop open, and carrying on a full business meeting on her earbuds; presumably her elderly mother was sitting next to her. It took me about a minute, but I finally turned to her and loudly said, “Excuse me! You need to put your mask on!” She did, but continued her very important business meeting. I was taken inside the office right away, but I immediately complained and the staff took care of it. When I left she made eye contact with me, but she was masked and no longer on her business call.
Frankly, I’ve had it with these people, and I’m speaking up, especially in a doctor’s office that only recently reopened after almost 3 months. The State order gives me more justification to speak up.
Basically, I’m still staying home as much as possible, and combining my trips when I do go out. But, the lack of respect for wearing masks is very stressful and makes me reluctant to leave - especially as the infection rate continues to climb here.

I wish there had been clear directions to wear a mask at the beginning, although I understand the concern about shortages for healthcare workers. But I also despise the politicization of a healthcare issue by Trump and his cynical enablers in the GOP. On them, I wish nothing but ill. They are responsible for thousands of lost and damaged lives. They should know what it's like to be a family that can't be with their loved one at the end, or what it's like to be in a medically induced coma for weeks, on your face. with a vent breathing for you. Or what it's like to have a death in the family and no room at the funeral home. People in this area are wearing masks, but we've had direction from the governor. I feel for anyone with a weak spined governor or local government who will put their lives and health at risk out of cowardice. Masks work in preventing infection. It's not hard. Wear one.
In Montgomery, AL where I live, mayor Stephen Reed was able to get a mask wearing ordnance passed by the city council. He also was able to set free masks to be give at various community centers across the city. The mayors of Birmingham and Tuscaloosa have also been pretty pro-active in taking measured in tackling the COVID-19 epidemic. But there are still some people either not wearing masks or not wearing them properly.
As far as Gov. Ivey and the GOPer lead state legislature, don't get me started. They don't give a tinkers damn about the healthcare. All they care about is making money for their big donors and getting their precious college football season started. We also have some primary runoffs occurring in July with no legislation being passed with regards to mail-in ballots.
I don't have to work again until July 6th due to a scheduled summer shutdown at the plant. So I been able to get that eight hours of sleep I've always wanted. LOL After I gave blood last week, I noticed my blood pressure was lower than the times I donated after work. Been catching up with the show during the morning hours, not as much listening to the show when it's live. You can blame The Criterion Channel for that. :D Hey I can't help it if they have some great movies!
I live in a suburb of Greenville South Carolina and I wear a mask anywhere I go. Which is not many places since the whole pandemic started. I haven’t stepped foot into a Kohl’s or a Lowe’s. Shopping is completely out of the question except for groceries, liquor, and gas. if I can’t get it online I don’t need it. I see about 75% of people around here NOT wearing masks. The number of cases in South Carolina increases every day and has been for at least a month. A month ago we were around 400 cases per day and now were well over 1000. It's frustrating and frightening!
