Today’s public hearing of the January 6th Select Committee is focused on how far-right groups including the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers meticulously planned to storm the Capitol on January 6. This is information we knew, but the committee today is showing how Donald Trump was in the middle of it — with people in his inner circle very much aware of it.

As Congressman Jamie Raskin, today’s star interviewer, said over the weekend, today’s hearing has the testimony of those who show Trump was trying to overturn the election, and knew there could be violence. And those in his inner circle were connecting with the groups planning that violence.

How will this further lead to charges against those around Trump and against Trump himself? How could it not?
