I agree the filibuster needs to go, now. Dems need to focus on doing everything possible to help America and restore democracy. The Republican party is eating itself and is a hot mess so how much power will Turtle Head be able to retain once their party is in ashes?

It has been YEARS of ruling from the minority by Moscow Mitch, not sure what he is going to do, but it is time for the filibuster to die on the vine so that we can take the control that we the people gave the Dems to run the Senate. I have written to my Senator who is now the leader and given him some suggestions as well as making him aware, if he is not, that they also need to be aware of the greatest danger, in my opinion, for 2024, and it is not Hawley or Cruz, his name is Mike Pompeo. He is more Hitler than Hitler! A super dangerous monster who must be watched carefully and called out for his extreme right wing positions.
I just sent the following to my 2 Senators in CO on ending the filibuster:
Democrats must not give in to another period of rule by the minority. The stakes are just too high. The Biden administration won because of the sweat, tears and hard work of millions of Americans. We cannot kowtow to a party that has abdicated its obligation to our democracy, failed to stand up for our laws to please a president that attacked our Capitol and has continued to push the Big Lie that Democrats didn't win fair and square.
We have too much to fix that the GOP and Trump have broken to give Mitch McConnell the final say on what gets voted on and what doesn't. If the Senate doesn't get the peoples' work done, they will find it difficult to make a case for holding the majority in 2022. Please don't give the GOP veto power over the work that must be done.
The filibuster has to go....McConnell’s power has to go....tRump has to be found guilty and banished from political life.....Biden should in no way pardon tRump or his family and friends. Biden can talk of unity....good political strategy but he needs to play a different game behind the closed doors. We need to throw our full support behind this administration and ensure that McConnell & the Repugnants are left emasculated in the games played of Washington.
The Senate Democrats can't even get through the formation of the Senate rules. They can't take control because the rules are being filibustered by you know who. So three weeks into the term the Democrats are still technically in the minority with Repub control of all committees and the agenda. And still there are Dems who want to retain the filibuster. I can see why. Its very effective. What no one has made clear is how does Schumer get past this without giving away all of his leverage to get the formation rolling? Is there a way at all?
