I firmly believe that tRump will not ,and has no intention of running for the 2024 presidency. He will use the “perception” of being a candidate to focus the media spotlight on him, to scam his cult supporters & to create chaos (esp.with the Repugnants).He will be seriously distracted by creditors, law suits and dealing with state criminal charges. I sincerely hope that tRump is found guilty by the Senate, for the simple reason that his 2024 presidency will no longer be a valid perception or reality, and hopefully, will dry up his money scam with his followers....and this will place him in isolation.
I believe you are right Michael and I for one will be exceedingly happy to NOT have to hear about the antics of Cheetolini every fucking day! The damage done is bad, but he will fade into history like all despicable human beings who got into high office with the help of foreign influence. I predict he will be living in Russia by 2024 to avoid being put in prison for the multitude of crimes somewhat outlined by Mueller, but there will also be many more that will come out as time goes by. He will have to take the entire crime family with him, because the power he invested in Kushner and his children to perform their criminal activities is vast. They have pilfered millions of dollars from us, the taxpayers. The state of the GOP is not relevant, the willful ignorance, rank stupidity, and full blown racism of the country IS. There will be a resurrection of the Republican Party and it will continue to be as hypocritical as ever because of the aforementioned state of half of the voting citizenry. Until people actually wake up to the fact that Republicans stand for tax cuts for the rich and enriching their doners and NOTHING else the deluded masses that voted for them will continue to do so. The Democrats will also simply continue to stand for nothing but not being Republicans and will clean up GOP messes, passing legislation with no real substance, and claim to stand for the masses. We need a party that actually stands for progressive values and will fight for them and that is NOT the Democratic Party in any way.
As for the conservative media, that it's liberal is a demonstrble myth, they could not care less about what is good for the country, they've been only in it for the money since Reagan and Clinton. They will give lip service to the left, somewhat, but won't really push issues that may be good for all but will hurt their profit motive. Les Moonves put it succinctly when he spoke of Trump being good for CBS profits. That's what's become of "news" reporting in America.
I love reading about the downward slide of the GOP. Their grip on the MSM and Faux News has not lessened, as you cite from Eric Boehlert's report. And therein is the danger that these fascist ideas and lies will continue to spread.
And what of Stone, Manafort, Flynn, and Bannon? From where are they getting the money to fund all these mercenaries? I think there needs to be a deep dive into all these groups and who is backing them.
