A terrific, comprehensive and precise piece, Michelangelo. This needs to be distributed far & wide, beyond Substack’s reach. Please reach out to Rachel Maddow. I’ll share as much as I can. You have perfectly nailed it.

Sadly another related problem we are facing from the Right is doxxing. I've had several drag queen friends have their real names and addresses published online by these right-wing zealots which puts them in terrible danger from nutjobs like the one that attacked Paul Pelosi. I bet Ben Collins has studied this and mentioned it before, but I'm wondering if there's anything we can do about it or if someone is a victim of this, what recourse they have. It would be nice to be able to fight back for a change. And the trolling on Twitter is awful. Singer Richard Marx made a tweet calling on gun control after the Club Q shooting and he was attacked by the trolls with cries of "groomer" and other vile garbage. What can we do to fight back against all these horrendous laws and bills Republicans are trying to get passed and their awful rhetoric they constantly spread? They need to be held accountable and it looks like the courts aren't able to protect us. Some in media like MSNBC are trying but until Fox News is sued into telling the truth, their audience will continue to be fed lies and rhetoric against us. We have to keep calling them out, exposing them for the trash they are. I know we're not supposed to resort to violence, but sometimes I wonder what would happen if there was a real Antifa or Act Up or something to help us fight back a bit since no one else will. Nothing crazy but some sort of pushback. The Right thinks they can say and do anything to us without any reprisal or accountability. It would be nice to make them realize otherwise.

Good Day Michelangelo, it is with a heavy heart I am responding to your latest concerning the mass shooting at the club in Colorado. You and many others have pointed out the facts that the increasing violent rhetoric among the right wing reactionaries has caused a tremendous increase of violence among minority communities throughout our country and the world.... I am soon to be 71, I cannot remember a time when our society has been so fragmented, so violent, so uncaring for our fellow humans. This morning I contacted the Colorado brewpub where the American hero and his wife work, I wanted to thank him for saving other potential victims at the club... I named him a true “mench” with the angel of G-d on his shoulder. All Americans should embrace this man’s courage, knowledge, and caring not for himself but for others. Again Michelangelo, thanks for putting these issues in perspective. Please enjoy your Thanksgiving, we do have many things to be thankful for, such as your program and your writing.

Sadly, conservatives on Twitter are beginning to attack army veteran Richard Fierro because he took his family to a gay bar to see a drag show. I can only imagine how many bomb threats his brew pub is receiving now.

I fckn' hate conservatives!

Every GOP politician has blood on his/her hands. Being part of a party beholden to the NRA and gun freaks is more important than human life. These hate crimes will never end until there is campaign finance reform and the GOP whores stop being funded by the NRA.

Oh, my I am just horrified by this shooting. I am speechless. My heart goes out to all affected by this tragedy brought on by Republican rhetoric.

Thank you Michelangelo for being there for us, and telling it like it is.

The problem is that religious extremism is the only form of mental illness that is constitutionally protected. The 1st Amendment has been interpreted by the conservatives on the SCt to grant license to the devout daft, as well as those politically pandering to the devout daft, to demonize the LGBT community, which triggers in the most unstable members of the flock a "death to the infidels" response.

I am sick and tired of preventable tragedies intruding on yours and my psyche. The extremists will never change enough to save us from the violence and elected officials are too cowardly to admit that the 2nd amendment never intended for citizens to own guns at will. Like oil companies and gun manufacturers have purchased immunity from responsibility, we need to inundate our Senators and Representatives with calls and letters and extract commitments to outlast the media cycle with domestic terrorism front and center...Oh f**k, another freaking shooting...

I have been groomed my entire life to be straight. Yet here I am at 75 a Gay man. I guess the straight grooming did not work. My little progressive group here in NJ third CD are having a vigil on Saturday, !0/25 standing with our LGBTQ+ community. We have helped elect across the board in formerly Republicon Burlington County Democrats. We also have been partly responsible for electing Congressman Andy Kim to the House in three election cycles. This District was formerly Republicons for decades. We all must get out there and support and work for candidates that are progressive and sane. What republicons and the Maggot have done to this country is horrific and we need to work to make President Biden win reelection in 2024.

The shooting in Colorado is utterly predictable as it is horrific. The GOP has been whipping up anti-Trans hate for over a year, and now they are offering "thoughts and prayers. " No, they need to be publicly rebuked for their Fascism. And yeah, on that Fascist Sheriff.

Cliche as it sounds....it is proven time & time again to be deadly potent ..."WORDS DO MATTER". We need to bombard our "favorite" Repugnant with this potent cliche. I am choosing Kari Lake as my "favorite" Repugnant to unload my disgust at her dangerous and deliberate rhetoric.

I have seen a couple reports that this homophobe POS is the grandson of a right wing politician from San Diego county. Hateful rhetoric is fueling these horrific acts. (Like we didn’t know that)

Thank you, Michelangelo. Extremely well-stated and comprehensive. I've been tracking the right's ability to generate stochastic terrorism for multiple years now and it drives me nuts that they get away with it.

I was sickened a few months ago that my own community was forced to cancel a drag queen parade because of threats of violence. It would have been a fun family-friendly event but the politicians and Fox News have whipped the haters into a frenzy.
