The music, the poetry and the words spoken today were very healing for me.

For Democrats, I think part of our collective psyche has been frozen for four years. This inauguration may be the most inspiring because it makes me appreciate our long-standing traditions more than I did previously which I took for granted.

Tears of sadness over the past and tears of joy going forward. Thanks for everyone’s hard work to put us here.

Good does conquer evil, but the price we paid was so very high: 400,000 dead compatriots who did not need to die, a country riven by hunger, strife, anger, and distrust, and our standing in the world perhaps unrecoverable. "Look what those Americans chose! Be careful of them, they might choose that again...." is something no one's ever said about Germans, because they made sure their country would never again run past the trip wires set to prevent fascism, greed, bigotry and hatred from winning.

Have we re-set all America's trip wires? I hope so. Let's be sure, and pledge to one another today that this will never happen again. Never forget.

Our Democracy was shown to be so fragile. A flawed TV reality personality who was able to mass scam millions of vulnerable Americans, many who felt threatened by what they perceived as loss of “their”privilege and saw tRump as a “leader” who would restore their “status”. The Electoral College’s power has been complicit in exposing the weakness in the US electoral system. The anomaly of the Biden’s razor thin electoral win notwithstanding his massive popular success reflects serious problems which would be relieved by doing away with the Electoral College. The ability of the voters to be willing victims of misinformation , lies, mistrust of policies that would raise their lifestyle and health is an ongoing problem that led to the extremism we experienced during this major pandemic. tRump’s will continue to con his gullible followers, his motives are purely monetary, we need to pressure the Repugnants to find him guilty so his ongoing ambitions, whatever they are , are thwarted . Today’s Inauguration is a massive sigh of relief, but boy, it was close to a serious overturning of this democracy. The fight continues.

I'm so grateful and relieved today that everything went smoothly, and that that awful orange stain on our Capitol is gone. But, at the same time, I am fearful of a more horrible monster that might be nominated by the other side in less than 4 years from now.

Wonderful day!

And to top it off, head over to NEWSMAX and read the comments from the Chicken Littles. I sat here reading them with a rock by my side. My rock no longer feels stupid.

Good morning! Today is a new day, and time to celebrate.

I was touched by the memorial for those lost to covid 19. The lights on the reflecting pool were beautiful and the nurse that sang made me cry.

Time to celebrate.

BTW I heard there is an animal planet in-dog-uration but have no details.

# 2 vax is in the arm! So far so good arm is less sore than #1, a bit restless and headachey but otherwise OK.

Sending vibes of happiness to all!

Xoxoxo

I cried last night watching the memorial for all those lives lost to Covid this past year. Although it was somber, it was also elating to see a President and Vice President who actually care about the American people, rather than themselves. This is a joyous day! A new beginning and although there’s a lot of work to be done to undo all the evil left by the last administration, I know we have the right people who have empathy for others to get it all done.

Once again I am hopeful!

I’m not religious but 4 years ago I cried from fear because I knew what darkness had been released. Today I will cry with tears of relief and joy. We did it: good does conquer evil!

Thanks for being a voice to help get us through the last 4 years. It will be nice to think about the rebuilding rather than the constant dismantling of the US government and democracy as we know it. Lots of problems to solve but we now have hope that they are being addressed!

And the cherry on top is that none of Qidiot terrorists at the Capitol a couple weeks ago were pardoned. They thought they had something special and cry about why he never returned their calls. LOL

I am sitting here watching this and am sobbing. Four years ago yesterday my wife and i were married and then got on a bus along with thousands of others and went to Washington DC where we attended the Women’s March. This is the culmination of four years of hard work on all of our parts. May the healing of this nation begin.

Thank you, Michelangelo, for helping me process what we've gone through over these past four years with this poignant article. Your daily show helps me, like so many others, stay sane and feel connected to the 81 million fellow Americans who chose democracy over fascism last November.
